i finally got around to doing a little sewing for myself! first, i sewed up this apron that came printed on the fabric from spoonflower. it’s a “chefalopod“–an octopus whose legs form the ties for the apron. when it came out during the apron contest, i knew i had to have it. (click on the link to see the full panel in all its silly glory)
the measuring cup is also a pocket. i made mine by cutting out a second layer in muslin, then sewing it all together like a pillow (instead of using seam binding). the only alteration i made is that i hate ties that tie behind my neck, so i sewed the top legs to the side legs like this (we’ll see if it works!):
apparently now there’s also a squid oven mitt, hmmm….
