yummy food

i’ve eaten very well this week so far. on sunday, we had curry at sa-bai thong (my favorite curry place!). yesterday, my co-workers and i went out to dinner at chautara and i had an amazing chicken tandoori dinner. it took all of my willpower, but i stopped exactly halfway through the meal when i realized that i could make a lunch out of the remainder–but if, and only if, i immediately put my fork down. so incredibly yummy. the chicken was amazing, the cucumber yogurt dip stuff was amazing, even the vegetables and the rice were full of wonderful flavors. and it was, indeed, a delicious lunch today!

when i got home from work today, mr. happy stuff said i was giving him the “let’s eat out look” (which i totally wasn’t–it was just wishful thinking on his part–but i’m open to suggestions!) and we decided to try out the new peruvian place. very yummy! they have this awesome purple drink which has pineapple juice and cinnamon and lime and corn and some other stuff i lost track of, but which has a deliciously complex flavor that only gets better and better as you drink it. i also really enjoyed the nibbling corn that they bring to the table before your meal–it’s not popcorn and it’s not corn-nuts, but it’s something like both of those, only much, much better. i ended up ordering an appetizer as my meal–stuffed avocado. whew! it was a bit rich! it was stuffed with a peruvian chicken salad that was generous with the mayonnaise, but also had surprises like carrots and peas tucked in. i think it was at least an avocado and a half. because i wasn’t sure how big a stuffed avocado was going to be, i also ordered a bowl of soup (thinking that with a price tag of $3.95 that it would be a small cup of soup)–wrong! it was a huge bowl of soup! i ended up having them pack most of it into a container for lunch tomorrow. i love leftovers….
