‘druthers

today was the last day of a four day weekend for me (i still love working 80%!) and last night, mr. happy stuff asked what i had planned for the day.  i said, “well, there’s a big list of things i could do, but if i had my ‘druthers, i would read and sew at some point tomorrow.”  apparently, i do have my ‘druthers!  i finished reading a whole (kids’ chapter) book while sitting in my hammock chair, and i got a little further on my current work-in-progress–a quilted throw.  here’s a teaser of the quilt:

granted, i got lots of other things done as well (cooking, laundry, dying more things brown, a few snail mail cards written….)  but i was so glad not to have to go out during the drippiest part of the day.  boo, cold rainy sleety stuff!  although i do like the way it catches the light on the tips of these branches:
